We are looking for a Head of Business Intelligence to lead our BI function, own the data strategy, and ensure that our BI platforms deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient insights across the business. You will manage a small team of BI engineers/analysts and drive best practices in data quality, governance, reporting, and automation across BigQuery, SSAS, and our GCP ecosystem.

About the Role

We are looking for a Head of BI / Lead BI to own our data strategy, lead the BI team, and ensure that our platforms deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient insights. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with strong cross-functional communication, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the BI vision, roadmap, and governance standards.
• Lead and mentor the BI team; ensure alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
• Oversee data warehouse architecture and BI environments across BigQuery, SSAS, ETL pipelines, and reporting tools.
• Ensure stability, accuracy, and cost-efficiency of BI operations; respond proactively to abnormal SQL or cloud usage.
• Guide the design and optimization of ETL workflows (NiFi, Dataform, Dataflow, GCP functions).
• Translate business needs into actionable KPIs, reporting structures, and dashboards.
• Support integration of ML/AI components into BI workflows.
• Act as escalation point for production BI issues, including occasional after-hours support.

Technical Knowledge & Experience (Required)

• Power BI – dashboard development, governance, DAX modeling.
• SSAS / OLAP Cubes – tabular & multidimensional design, optimization, maintenance.
• GCP ecosystem, including:
  • BigQuery
  • Cloud Functions
  • Vertex AI
  • Looker / Looker Studio
• NiFi – building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines.
• Programming Languages:
  • SQL (advanced)
  • Python (for data processing, automation, and model integration)
• DAX – data modeling and performance tuning in Power BI.

Leadership & Communication Requirements

• Strong communication skills, capable of influencing and aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to define BI standards and elevate the organization’s BI maturity.
• Experience leading small to mid-sized BI or data engineering teams.
• Advantage: direct experience working with C-level executives and presenting strategic insights.
